If you’re keen to try more cocktails, check out my Mojito recipe too. I hope you enjoy this quirky drink as much as I do. Failing that, it’s fine just serving it ‘on the rocks’. I have also served this drink over ice spheres in the past and that works really well too. Pour through a strainer into a martini glass. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosty, about 30 seconds. I’m not sure if they’re still making them but I did find them available on Amazon. Place 1 cup ice, 1 1/2 ounces vodka, 1 ounce apple liqueur, 1 ounce apple juice, and 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. It works really well for this type of cocktail and keeps it chilled until the last sip. Add the 1 ounces vodka, 1 ounces apple juice, 1 ounce sour apple liqueur, and ounce simple syrup. The mould creates a cavity made entirely of ice that the drink can then be poured into. Instructions Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice. It’s essentially a glass with a mould that sets the ice around the outside. My preferred glassware are these great Ice Liners tumblers which I picked up as a Kickstarter project back in 2015. The Apple Pie Cocktail is best served chilled. About 10 seconds of gentle shaking is plenty to combine all the ingredients. Finally, don’t over-shake the cocktail shaker, otherwise the drink will become too foamy. This give the final drink a great colour and sweetness that can’t be achieved with the clear apple juices. When selecting an apple juice for this cocktail, pick a cloudy or organic juice.

The good thing about this Fireball cocktail is even if you’re not a fan of Fireball on its own, the apple juice takes the edge off and makes this quite a smooth drink indeed. I think it tastes amazing, and it’s a great drink for shots, but I know a lot of people don’t like it much. If you’re not familiar with this little gem, it’s basically a strong punch of whisky flavoured with cinnamon. The cocktail is pretty straightforward and it all centres around Fireball Cinnamon Whisky. It’s a great drink for the colder months as the cinnamon flavour gives a warm cozy feeling. Over the years I’ve made a few tweaks and this new recipe is a bit more to my taste. I’m still pleasantly surprised every time I make one too. It ended up a total hit! Everyone was amazed that a cold drink could taste so similar to an apple pie. When I happened across a drink called Apple Pie on the Rocks, I decided to give it a try.
